REFLECTION

When I was in high school, I don’t have any teacher who used student centered method. Actually our teachers never tell objectives or interested in goals, We have some topics in book, so they came and did somethings every lesson and never say that “YOU UNDERSTAND? “ “WE ARE SO FAST?” or something like that. We never solve examples in physics or math class, so we never be good at these lessons. It should be use some student-centered methods. Also our english teacher didn’t know how to speak english. How can be succesful in these conditions in high school?

  1. Dear Aykut, like you, I had also an English teacher who doesn't know English but this situation motivated me to do my best to be examiner of such teachers and maybe being in charge of Ministery of Education. Perhaps, it can motivate you in that way too.

    1. Hello Aykut, after I read your reflection about your high school teacher, I realized that s/he might have had adverse effects on your approach to learning. It is true that it is very unlikely for a student to be successful under such circumstances in real terms. But as Selim Akkaş stated above, I think you could exploit this situation. This type of motivation could help you utilize your past negations and help you boost your learning since now, you are aware of the obstacles in your way and how to clear them off.

  2. Dear Aykut, I get your point. I think you are right to think like that. Because we all experienced this. However as Selim and Deniz mentioned we can try our best to get over this process by ourselves. And also I think this is the best way to improve both socially and intellectually :)

  3. Hi Aykut! I agree with you because generally High School teachers do not use student center due to the fact that they have lots of students.
